Thankful∼Grateful∼Blessed
Thanksgiving is more than a moment to count our blessings; it is an invitation to pause, remember, and recognize the goodness of God. In every season—whether filled with joy or marked by trials—we can look back and see His grace carrying us, His mercy sustaining us, and His faithfulness never letting us go.
The Psalmist reminds us, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2). How easily we remember what is missing and forget what God has already done. A thankful heart chooses to remember.
We give thanks not only for the prayers that were answered, but also for the prayers through which God taught us to trust Him. We thank Him for the doors He opened, the doors He closed, the strength He gave when we felt weak, and the people He placed along our journey.
Scripture says, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). This does not mean that every circumstance is easy or good, but that God remains good in every circumstance.
May our thanksgiving go beyond our words. May it make us more humble, more generous, more compassionate, and more willing to love others. For “every good and perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17).
Above all, we give thanks for Jesus Christ—the greatest gift of all. “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15).
So today, with quiet and grateful hearts, I say: Thank You, Lord. For what You have given, for what You have carried me through, for what You have taught me, and for the grace that meets me each new day.
“Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.” — Psalm 95:2
May my gratitude not simply be something we express, but something we become—living lives that continually give glory to God.
